I like this vase from the 1950s. Designed by Vaclav Hanus, and produced by the Rudolfova glassworks in Czechoslovakia.
The vase is a good example of the myriad of interpretations of modernism. Not the definitive, straight lines often represented in Scandinavian design; but more stylised, with a clear link to the past. It echoes the designs of the 1930s
The vase shapes replicate nature in a very emphatic way - the surface pattern is repeated in the curved rim of the vase. A beautiful, stylised, piece.
