This vase is attributed to Tamara Aladin; and the single hoop and lipped top are the design traits of Aladin, and Nanny Still, who were both designing at Riihamaki in the 1960s and 1970s when this vase was produced.
The vase is mould-blown but not cased in clear glass which gives the red colour an almost smoky feel with more variation in hue than in encased glass. It’s a pleasing addition to the repertoire of Riihamaki glass.
Only one vase is left - end of a possible partnership :-(
20 cm high, they make a beautifully balanced pairing in a display on a mantlepiece.
