It is part of a series of ceramic homeware designs in the flamestone range
A very early product from the design company, and captures the balance between the ‘modern’ and traditional, or vernacular designs; a balance which Quistgaard loved to achieve in his work.
This balance is present throughout the companies output, under the design guidance of Quistgaard.
Andy Warhol produced a lovely illustration of the coffee pot, and the cups too, for Dansk Design advertising campaign in the early 1960s - it captures the era perfectly.
