Original 1970s version of this iconic shaped decanter - a beautiful and sophisticated Danish design - the stopper is a wonderful thing alone.
1970s Holmegaard label in place and original box, packaging
Designed by Danish by Michael E Bang for Holmegaard in the 1960s. Called the Kluk Kluk decanter, due to the four air channels through which the liquid passes as you pour, making a charming gurgling sound. In true Modernist fashion Bang was not in favour of surface decoration but instead, used the shape of the decanter to provide a dynamic effect.
I hate to use the phrase - but it has become an ‘iconic design’ of the 1960s
