A beautiful example of Erik Pløen (1925 - 2004) pottery. A ceramist all his life, he also taught in Norway, Sweden and Chicago, before settling back into a studio in his homeland, Norway.
The piece is a Modernist Tri Handle Flower Vase, the design links Norwegian modernism with its historical vernacular style.
Pløen experimented with ceramic technique and technical outputs. He is associated with the ‘thick glaze’ developed in his work . Erik Pløen‘s work is in many museum collections across Europe.
The vase has a wonderful fluid floral illustration. Rustic glaze, which is luscious and in keeping with the intended aesthetic.
