Whitefriars ruby red three sided glass bud vase, designed by Geoffrey Baxter, pattern number 9570. Baxter’s work is heavily influenced by Scandinavian modernism.
This lovely weighted vase has obvious references to Scandinavian glassmaking - from Soini Kaiander and Olavi Nurminen at Nuutaiärvi Notsiö, to Sven Palmqvist and Orrefors.
Very contemporary colour, organic and muscular shape in cased glass.
Some light surface marks underneath on the base which are commiserate with age. .
