Vintage Midcentury Modern modular cupboard by Unix of UK. A quality furniture maker from the 50s through to the 6Os
A small 1940s oak wall console of demi-lune form, revived from a later dark stain to reveal the warmth and grain of the original veneer.
Designed to sit lightly against the wall, the shallow bow front introduces softness to an otherwise practical domestic piece. A single drawer with ceramic knob provides modest storage for keys, letters or bedside essentials.
This is not a grand statement object — rather a well-proportioned, quietly made example of mid-century English utility furniture. Its appeal lies in restraint: curve, drawer, oak.
Professionally restored and ready to hang.
Why it works
The gentle arc softens the wall plane. Oak grain provides movement without ornament. The single drawer introduces function without weight. It occupies space lightly.
