1960s Bowl Rudolf Jurnikl for Rosice Glassworks, Sklo Union

A beguiling, organic form, curvaceous glass bowl from the 1960s by Rudolf Jurnikl. Produced by Rosice Glassworks, Sklo Union: 1962; Pattern no 1045.

It is a soviet paean to the modernity of smoking too, if used as an ashtray.

A lovely sculptural shape created from pressed glass. Mid-century modernist design at it’s minimalist best

Amethyst coloured glass, which the light creates pale purple/lilac tones from too.

Large and heavy - 17cm wide x 6.5cm high. Just over 1.25kg
