A 1970s bentwood and rattan lounge chair, currently in the studio workshop and offered ahead of its final conservation.
The piece is defined by continuous curved lines — looping arms and a spindle back forming an open, enclosing structure. Set on a circular swivel base, it has an easy, informal presence, designed for relaxed sitting rather than upright posture.
The chair is sold as a finished object and will be delivered following conservation in the studio workshop. The swivel mechanism and rotation is solid and smooth.
At this stage, it remains as found. The surface shows the soft wear of use, and the finish has faded gently over time — something that will be retained and clarified rather than replaced.
The conservation process is gentle, focusing on cleaning, stabilising, and nourishing the existing surface to bring back depth to the timber while preserving its age and character.
