Vintage Bohemian Large Glass Vase By Jan Beranek, Skrdlovice Colbalt Blue 1960’s
A particularly dynamic design by Jan Beranek from Skrdlovice: as much sculptural work as functional vase.
Made in Czechoslovakia in the mid-20th century, it features a tactile, abstract design in vibrant cased glass of cobalt blue. The design incorporates free-modelled surfaces with its protruding, pulled lobes which give the surface a shimmering effect. A technique which is synonymous with the work of Jan Beranek. The hot modelling technique makes each vase unique.
Made by the Skrdlovice glassworks, designed by Jan Beránek in 1959.
