A wonderful Midcentury vintage rocking horse of varnished beech. Emulating the 1936 design by Kay Bojesen, which was a very popular design in the 1960s and 70s, and the scandi-influence in European decor, and retail.
Lovely detail: from the handpainted eyes to the woven tail.
The rocking horse has been gently restored, leaving the signs of past use, whilst sealing all the wood with environmentally friendly oils, to allow for another generation of use.
Kay Bojesen produced her children’s toys under the motto:
“From now on no child shall be bored.”
