An elegant long-form wall mirror dating from around the 1960s–70s, combining a frameless mirror plate with a shaped laminated plywood backing.
The design is defined by its unusually slender, gently tapering profile — widening towards the top and terminating in softly rounded ends. The exposed laminated edge provides the only decorative detail, allowing the construction itself to become part of the design.
Unmarked, but its material, construction and unusually restrained form are strongly aligned with Scandinavian and northern European modernist design of the period.
Presented in good vintage condition with age-related marks and wear consistent with use.
Why it works
A particularly restrained piece of modernist design: proportion rather than ornament. At just 29 cm at its widest point, it provides a useful full-length reflection without taking up the visual space of a conventional large mirror.
