A single sheet of teak-veneered plywood steam-bent into one continuous Z-fold, held with just three fixings — no frame, no joints, the curve itself doing the work. The white edge-banding that traces the bend line is a defining detail of the design, and on this piece it’s still intact and undamaged.
Designed by Paul Rowan, who co-founded Umbra in Toronto in 1979. This rack belongs to that first wave of output — sculptural form made viable for small-batch production, with no compromise on either.
