Jens Harald Quistgaard’s ‘Fluted Flamestone’ coffee set was designed in 1958 for Dansk Design. It is part of a series of ceramic homeware designs in the flamestone range
It is a very early product from the design company. It captures the balance between the ‘modern’ and traditional, or vernacular designs.
This balance is present throughout the companies output, under the design guidance of Quistgaard.
Andy Warhol produced a lovely illustration of the coffee pot and cup for Dansk Design advertising campaign in the early 1960s - it captures the era perfectly.
